There’s only a few tall cranes working on larger development projects in Columbus at the moment, and a whole lot of ground-level work on streets, sidewalks, planters and utilities. The contrast makes for an interesting set of photos in this month’s construction update collection — half are pointed upward toward the sky, the other half are pointed down at the new brick streets.

I love the sound of jackhammers in the morning.
The work at Livingstone and Parsons around Childrens is looking great! I am really excited for it to be completed, such a HUGE improvement over what it used to look like!
Great photos, Walker. Downtown is slowly coming to life…
Thanks! Honestly, it feels like there’s not quite as many projects as there were just a few years ago… and admittedly, I’m a little less excited about hotels & hospitals as I am condos, apartments and retail… but it’s still good to see things moving forward. ;)
I like retail and living too, Walker, but I am excited that we will have such amazing hospitals in Columbus.
The thousands of new employees at those hospitals are going to need a place to live, shop and eat. Hopefully, a few choose to live, shop and eat in urban Columbus. And I would not worry about the lack of projects. I have a feeling next year is going to be pretty nuts.
Driving down 670 from the West, the Hilton is a nice addition. I was surprised at the height from that view,
Yeah, I keep spotting the new hotel from different angles and it’s always surprising. ;) Will be nice to have another building in the skyline.
