New Geography has a new post about data compiled by EMSI that lists the Most Competitive US Metro Areas Since 2010, and Columbus clocks in at a healthy #19. This study takes a look at job change from 2010 to 2012, industry mix, the relation to national economic growth and other quantitative factors.
The only regional cities to top Columbus are Grand Rapids, Detroit and Louisville. Fellow Ohio cities fell much further on the list with Cincinnati at 42, Dayton at 59, Akron at 61, Youngstown at 67, Toledo at 68 and Cleveland at 88.
