The Columbus Division of Police is preparing for another round of free recruiting expos for potential new officers this spring and summer. The expo dates are set for May 14, between 5 pm and 9 pm, and on July 11 between 10 am and 2 pm. Attendees to the expos at CPD’s James G. Jackson Training Academy on Hague Avenue will be shown some of the expectations, benefits and training that goes along with becoming a Columbus police officer.
In preparation for this year’s expos, CPD has launched a new recruiting webpage for potential police academy applicants. The new page includes registration for the academy expos, details on the minimum qualifications to apply with CPD and information on physical training and officer exam study sessions.
In a brief press release, Columbus City Councilmember Zach Klein, who chairs the Council’s Public Safety and Judiciary Committee encouraged anyone interested in becoming a Columbus police officer to take advantage of CPD’s new webpage and said, “The Columbus Division of Police must do everything it can to connect with those interested in a career in law enforcement.”
