Last year, local artists and arts organizations opened their doors to the public in a new way for the inaugural Columbus Open Studio and Stage (COSS) event. Yesterday, the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) announced that they are now seeking applications from local artists who want to participate in this year’s edition of the event on October 7 – 8.

“Columbus Open Studio and Stage gives people a chance to peek behind the scenes of the creative process, while also providing them with an opportunity to talk with and get to know local artists,” said Jami Goldstein, VP of marketing, communication and events at GCAC during an interview with Columbus Underground last fall. “This event fits perfectly with the Arts Council’s Art Makes Columbus/Columbus Makes Art marketing campaign, which highlights the incredibly talented artists of our city and introduces new audiences to Columbus’s unique arts scene.”

The application process will remain open through March 31 at 5 p.m. The program is calling specifically for artists located within I-270, and requires two-day participation and engaging activities — such as workshops or demonstrations — for the guests who visit.
