    Columbus Mega Winter Weekend 2014 – Vol. 13

Don’t forget to get signed up for the Downtown available office space tours that begin next Wednesday. Vendor applications for Eco Chic Craftacular are due March 1. Vendor applications are open for the Moonlight Market. Win a pair of tickets to the Drexel’s Red Carpet Bash. March is certainly arriving like a lion, take care this weekend!

    Tonight, head to the Winter Bike Fair, put on by Bike OSU at the OSU Knowlton School of Architecture. Jerry Seinfeld will perform at the Ohio Theatre. La Cage Aux Folles continues at Wall Street. It’s Ladies Night Out at Green Olive Company. Front Street Bar & Grill has opened. Volstead Comedy Showcase returns to Sidebar. Voice opinions and thoughts at COTA’s meeting about the Cleveland Avenue BRT. Shadowbox Live presents Madness & Lust. There’s a warm-up party for Off the Grid happening at Ace of Cups.

    Receptions and parties for the new murals in the Short North are happening this weekend.

    Friday
    It’s the last day for Zoo admission to be half off. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra presents Mozart & Schumann at the Southern Theatre through Sunday. Roy G Biv hosts an artist talk discussing Viewpoints, the new murals in the Short North. Lindsay Gallery is having a kickoff party to celebrate the Short North murals with Joey Monsoon and Wallace Peck. And Ray’s Living Room celebrates the Weinland Park Story Book mural with a party. Dance party Groove is at Exile. Foreplay continues at Shadowbox Live. The Opera Project presents Arias in Ebony, Friday and Sunday. Attend and show support at Nina West’s Freedom to Marry Benefit at Axis. AVALON Fridays return. Head to an Arnold Classic Afterparty at Park Street Patio.

    Saturday
    Lydia Loveless has a release party for her new album, Somewhere Else, at Rumba Cafe. The Jazz Arts Group presents Chris Thomas King, award-winning blues guitarist who starred in O Brother, Where Art Thou? at the Lincoln Theatre. The Columbus Winter Farmers Market returns. Columbus Blue Jackets take on Florida Panthers. The Maple Syrup Festival returns to Malabar Farm, and Stratford Ecological Center has a Maple Syrup Tour. It’s Prohibition Night at the Garden Theater. It’s the last day to get name ideas to the South Side Paper that has started up. The Home and Garden Show goes through Sunday. JCC Gallery Players opens The Producers, their spring musical. Prime Saturdays is back with the opening of Elite. Gallery Hop is back! Rockmill Brewery hosts a charity event. Studio 35 shows The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Heatwave is at Ace of Cups. Brazilian Macabre Invades the Wex. Celebrate Ohio Statehood Day at the Ohio Statehouse. Stop by Jinny in their popup location in the Short North.

    Do you have all of your Academy Award predictions in? The Drexel is hosting their annual Red Carpet Bash. Gateway Film Center is hosting an Oscars party. OSU Men’s Ice Hockey takes on Michigan at Nationwide Arena. Dine at Barrel 44 in the Short North and help raise money for autism. The CSO presents the Columbus All City Orchestra. Madness & Lust is at Shadowbox Live. See Shift Change: Putting Democracy to Work, showing at Studio 35. Call for entries has opened for Pinchflat Poster Show. Cinema Classics at the Gateway Film Center has returned – head to The Torpedo Room at noon for brunch followed by the 50th anniversary screening of Goldfinger.
