Happy Weekend! Hope you had a happy Halloween! If you love film festivals, November is your month. There will be plenty to see and experience. If you are all ready to start planning your Thanksgiving, take a look at this gorgeous heritage turkey. There are a few Promowest ticket giveaways going on if you’d like to enter to win.

Thursday

Come join us for a happy hour at Sway Martini and Tapas Lounge. If you are celebrating Día de Los Muertos, there is a celebration at the Global Gallery Coffeeshop in Clintonville and also one by Latino Arts for Humanity. The Barley’s Brewing Company 20th Anniversary Celebration takes place tonight. Did you get your hands on some of Watershed’s new bourbon? Watercolor Ohio opens tonight at the Riffe Center. The Wexner Center begins their Castles in the Sky: Miyazaki, Takahata and the Master of Studio Ghibli film festival. The Salt Mines coworking in Clintonville opens tonight. The opening reception for A Taste of New Orleans at the Homeport Gallery is tonight. See Watercolors by Joseph Russell Taylor at the OSU Faculty Club. St James Tavern has a Founders Backwoods Bastard Release party tonight. Listen to selections from The Memory Eater tonight at Paging Columbus at OSU Urban Arts Space.

Friday

Support the Jazz Arts Group at their One Night Only event at the Lincoln Theatre. Vote at the Food Truck Elections at Zauber Brewing. The Ohio Art League has a Speakeasy themed fundraiser Friday night. BalletMet’s Dracula continues through Saturday. Hang out in the new Stage Left Lounge and enjoy an evening performance of song and humor by Dezy. There’s still time to check out Full Moon at Shadowbox Live. Bad Movie Nite returns to Studio 35. The OGP Halloween Show: The Cellar and Other Places You Shouldn’t Go continues at MadLab Friday and Saturday. VHS or Beta is coming to Skully’s. See the contemporary ballet troupe Seven Dance Company perform at the Garden Theater through Sunday. It’s the final weekend for Conk and Bone performed by Raconteur Theatre.

Saturday

The ReelAbilities Film Festival opens at the Columbus Museum of Art and will have films at different locations throughout Wednesday. Gallery Hop is happening in the Short North. Rivet has a new exhibition by Shannon Bonatakis. Quality has returned to the White Room at Madrid. The Columbus Winters Farmers Market starts their season at the Charity Newsies building. Heatwave is turning it up at Ace of Cups again. Get Punked at CS Gallery. OSU takes on Illinois. The Columbus International Festival is Saturday and Sunday. Catch up on your WOSU neighborhood series films at Easton. Talktainmentradio.com is having an open house. Brothers Drake is being taken over by Apple Pie on Saturday, buy the mead, enter the pie contest, or just hang out. Don’t forget the time changes, turn your clocks back 1 hour!

Sunday

The Jewish Film Festival kicks their opening night at the Columbus Museum of Art with My Best Enemy. As usual, the Gateway Film Center is showing The Walking Dead. Learn about Dirt and get your composting questions answered on Sunday night at Wild Goose Creative – there will be a screening of Dirt! : A movie with heart and soil, a root vegetable cooking competition, and a root vegetable themed art gallery. Shadowbox Live has only a couple performances of Chicago left. If you want to see La Boheme, make sure to call for reservations first!

    Friday night is also PJs & Eggs. Enjoy brinner at select restaurants and donate pajamas for Children’s. I’ll be at Jack’s Sandwich Shop downtown!

    Wexner Center for the Arts
    Our latest SUPER SUNDAY is just two days away! PICTURE YOURSELF at the Wex for an all day FREE open house celebrating our Annie Leibovitz exhibition, featuring free gallery admission, photo stations, and fun hands-on activities for visitors of all ages. The day also features screenings from our highly anticipated Studio Ghibli retrospective, with “My Neighbors the Yamadas” at 1 PM and “Only Yesterday” at 3:15 PM (screenings are ticketed). The day starts at noon.
