Columbus Mega Summer Weekend – Vol. 14

Happy Weekend! Summer is winding down (can you believe school starts up next week!) and there is a nice weekend of things to do. Local Foods Week continues through Sunday. Movies, food events, outdoor music and the final home bout for the Ohio Roller Girls. Plus the 5th Avenue dam is being removed! Have you registered for the Columbus Volunteer Challenge?

Thursday

Tonight, go to Pecha Kucha at Junctionview. The Wex Drive in is Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. COSI has Farm Days through Sunday. ProMusica has their final outdoor concert at Franklin Park Conservatory. Think you could be a TEDxColumbus speaker? The Actor’s Theatre has a special performance in Columbus Commons all weekend. The Heritage Concert Series continues in Mayme Moore Park. It’s your final chance to see Burlesque de Voyage at Shadowbox Live.

Friday

Make sure to get entered to win tickets to Taste the Future! Movies on the Mile is showing Charlotte’s Web. Screen on the Green is showing Steel Magnolias. Food Fort Fest is Friday night. Go to the final Jazzoo of the season. If you love thrifting, you’ll love the deals you can find during National Thrift Shopping Day. Meet fabric artist Ann Rebele at the Cultural Arts Center. Lobster Days continue at the Hills Market. Cheer on your Ohio Roller Girls as they battle the Chicago Outfit. They will also have their Second Annual Stitch & Kitsch Craft Bazaar. Waterfire lights up Genoa Park with music by The Floorwalkers. Go on the Year of Yay and take a ride through urban gardens. Dance at LeBOOM at Skully’s. Go to yART at the MAC. Learn to can salsa at Oakland Nursery. Go to WoofStock. See all of the best in ballet at BalletMet’s Global Dance Stars Gala. Cap City Creatives celebrates its 3rd Birthday at 400 West Rich. RSVP for Crafternoons to make sketchbooks at OSU Urban Arts Space. The Gateway Film Center has a screening of Invisible War followed by a Q&A. Go down a huge slide!

Sunday

Sell UR Bike Stuff at Franklinton Cycle Works! The African Village Arts Festival is on Sunday. Get registered for a farm dinner at Jorgensen Farms. Do some crafty shopping at Artisan Sunday, or at the new Avant-garde Art and Crafts show. The Goodale Park Music Series continues with Nick Tolford & Company. Jog for dogs on Sunday. There’s only a couple of showtimes left for Back to the Garden. Try a breakfast pizza at Due Amici. Get a backpack and school supplies together to donate for our backpack drive!
