Lots of big events going on this weekend, so it shouldn’t be too hard to fill your schedule! The Columbus Arts Festival kicks off today and runs through Sunday. Once again they’ll be set up in the Discovery District near CCAD. The Short North will be buzzing all day on Saturday as they have the neighborhood yard sale, Zombie Walk and Gallery Hop all going on. The Columbus Landmarks Foundation will be hosting a walking tour in German Village on Saturday. Wild Goose Creative is hosting a BBQ on Sunday evening. And as always, there’s plenty of other fun things to do found in our events section. Enjoy your weekend, Columbus!

Also, last weekend for Egypt exhibit at the art museum!
The Pecha Kucha folks are also having a potluck at JView Sunday evening.
its gonna be a great weekend!
And this Sunday is Artisan Sundays at the North Market, 12-5 pm!
Just did a quick walk-through of the Arts Festival, will be going back later to fully enjoy myself.
Jeni’s is there this year, which is awesome.
Typically I end up seeing the exact same things year after year, but during my quick pass I didn’t see anything that stuck out in my mind as “Oh, I remember that from last year”.
The guy who does the topiary sculpture-like things is set up at the end of Long Street. It’s pretty cool and is an awesome place for him to be.
If you’re looking for something to do with the kiddies, check out a new local band called The Shazzbots! They are playing two shows at the Abbey Theater in Dublin on Saturday (1pm and 3pm.) They are a lot of fun for the kids (and adults!): http://www.theshazzbots.com
Tix are $10. You can pick them up at the door or in advance at Kafe Kerouac on North Campus or Red Rover in Clintonville.
Don’t forget that Pedal Instead is at the Arts Festival. Corner of Long and Cleveland, directly across from the bookstore by the red rod things. Next to the port-o-johns and behind the beer trailer.
Why pay $5 to park? Ride your bike, park for free AND you’ll be right next to the main drag of the festival.
Saturday will be at Gallery Hop and then off to the Wexner for Jenny Lewis concert.

Good call! We bumped into Catherine Girves while out tonight and she reminded me that the service was up and running for the bikers.
This was a last minute thing. If you have an hour or two to kill, stop by the booth and see if Catherine wants a hand to help. Might be good to have some people tearing down Sunday.
Pedal Instead has a website now as well. If anyone is ever hesitant about biking to an event, just click over and see if the corral will be set up.
Arts Festival was really good this year, I thought a lot of the reprints of the art was a lot better priced this year.
I love the location it is in as well. You have the art museum, which we went to and saw the Egyptian Art, then you have the art college, they had there doors open. I hope they keep it at the current location, its more open, and has way better parking (for those of us that drive, LOL)
Also that Zombie walk in the Short North today was neat. I really can’t believe people do that, really cool. LOL (something a little different)
