“These improvements are the foundation for stronger neighborhoods in Columbus,” says Mayor Coleman. “We are investing in street resurfacing, sidewalks, bikeways and alleys that will improve safety and the quality of life for people across Columbus.”

Additionally, the capital improvements budget allocates $6 million for sidewalk improvements and $6.4 million for bikeways, bike paths and bike sharrows.

“The capital budget allows Columbus to not only invest in building better neighborhoods, but also create jobs and generate additional revenue to sustain the long term growth of our city,” says Councilmember Priscilla R. Tyson, who is also chair of the Finance Committee.

Columbus City Council is scheduled to vote on the Capital Improvements Budget on Monday, April 16th, following a series of public hearings on March 22, March 29 and April 12th.
