The Columbus Eagles dropped their second home game of the season on Sunday as they fell 0-1 against Cincinnati Lady Saints at Wellington School.
After a rocky start to the season the girls looked to be set for their first point until a dubious penalty was awarded to Cincinnati in the 83rd minute on what looked like a fair challenge inside the Eagles box.
Cincinnati took the opportunity with a neatly taken spot-kick that flew past the despairing dive of the Eagles ‘keeper.
Despite the loss the afternoon was highly enjoyable for those in attendance on a beautiful summer-like day as the small crowd enjoyed a few hours of women’s soccer in the superb setting of Wellington School.
The Eagles next home game is on June 15th when they take on Ohio Galaxies.
