    City of Columbus To Study Developing Airport Area

    The City of Columbus will receive $50,000 to study the development of an airport development corporation, according to the city’s Development Department. The money will go toward determining the best way to attract business to the area around the airport and fill in 675 acres of commercial space around the airport.

    There is no specific business focus yet — that will happen during the study and brainstorming phase, but the area, according to the city’s Department of Development, is ripe for commercial office, light manufacturing, and retail development. The city is partnering with Gahanna, Whitehall, and The Ohio State University in this venture.
