    City Hall Budget Proposal Unveiled for 2010

    Yesterday, Mayor Michael Coleman proposed his 2010 budget plan to Columbus City Council. Over two-thirds of the $655 Million budget will go toward maintaining police and fire services, and also includes the reinstatement of city-wide yard-waste pickup on April 15th and the re-opening of all closed Rec Centers by September 2010.

    City Council is not expected to vote on the budget until February. “I commend Mayor Coleman and his staff for working diligently to present Council with a responsible and balanced budget proposal,” Council President Michael Mentel stated in a press release yesterday. “My colleagues and I look forward to fully analyzing this proposal, implementing input from the public, and working with Mayor Coleman to adopt a sensible and prudent budget for 2010.”
