Changes Made to Proposal for Third Avenue Apartments in Victorian Village

More changes have been made to a proposed 16-unit apartment building at 42 West Third Avenue in Victorian Village. The new proposal calls for a four-story, stand-alone building next to the historic single-family home at 40 West Third. The one-story addition to that building, which previously held offices, would be demolished and the original structure renovated.

A parking lot would provide ten spaces for the project, while an additional nine spaces would be built into the first floor of the new building.

Local developer Borror Properties first took the idea to the Victorian Village Commission in March, proposing to build the new structure behind the Italianate-style home. Commission members at that meeting suggested the new orientation, with the new building fronting Third Avenue. Borrror then re-submitted the proposal in April, and is now bringing the new proposal to the May 8th meeting, based on further feedback from the commission.

Jeff Baur of Borror Properties said that they are excited about the project and looking forward to hearing the commission’s response to the latest design.
