The 4,100 square foot restaurant space at 698 North High Street has sat dark for two full years since Rigsby’s Kitchen closed up their doors in 2015. That will change this spring once Cameron Mitchell Restaurants opens their newest concept: Harvey and Ed’s.

The new restaurant and bar is being described as a “modern American approach to traditional delicatessens,” and the menu is set to feature chopped liver, matzo ball soup, potato latkes, deli sandwiches and more.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that CMR was working on a new concept for the space, as confirmed by representatives with Wood Companies, the building’s owner.

“We held this space for a long time, and turned away a lot of users who did not have the same vision for the neighborhood that we did,” stated Mark Wood, President of The Wood Companies. “This new concept will add even more energy to this block in its strategic and highly visible location across the street from the 711 N High office tower.”

The new deli will be the fourth Short North restaurant for Cameron Mitchell, which also includes the Guild House, The Pearl and Marcella’s. A fifth is also on the way in the aforementioned 711 North High office tower.

Harvey and Ed’s is scheduled to open in Spring 2018.
