Bungalow Relocates in The Short North

Bungalow Home has been growing rapidly ever since it first opened. Originally launched as “Inside” in November 2010, the concept expanded with locations in Powell and New Albany within the first year. Now, it’s the original Short North location that will be growing with a relocation to 641 North High Street, formerly occupied by Loot.

“Because of our growth, we needed a larger space in the Short North that will have the room to display a greater selection of merchandise,” Scott Hanratty, Store Director at Bungalow Home. “The space itself is gorgeous with tons of character and large windows.”

The new location will be double the square footage of the original Bungalow location in the small building at 940 North High Street. Hanratty also cites the proximity to the new Joseph development as an advantage at the new space.

The Short North has seen an increase in new home decor shops and boutiques over the last several years including Old World New Home, Tomorrow’s Antiques and Grid Furnishings. The owners of Bungalow aren’t concerned about an oversaturation of the market.

“We love the fact that our neighbors have similar businesses because it creates a destination for our customers, friends and fans,” explained Hanratty. “Each store has its own unique style, so there is something for everyone.”

The collection of home furnishing businesses even collaborated on the Home on High promotion effort, which showcases the collection of businesses and promotes the Short North as a shopping destination for furniture and home decoration.

Bungalow is expecting to host their soft opening at 641 North High Street sometime in late April.

“We are very thankful for all of the support over the past 17 months and look forward to continuing to serve Columbus residents and homes in the years to come,” said Hanratty.
