The writing has been on the wall for the Buckeye Hall of Fame Cafe ever since they went into receivership back in March, but the future of the site may have been determined last night. City Council approved a 10-year tax break for a developer who is proposing to tear down the restaurant and build a six-story 134-room hotel in its place. The owners of the Hall of Fame have stated that they are looking for a new smaller space to relocate the restaurant to. Anyone have any ideas on where might be a good fit?

I kind of think this is why OSU was so hardcore on shutting down the Thirsty i, perhaps it will move there.
how about the soon to be empty Thirsty I location? I’m guessing OSU owns most of the stuff in the Hall of Fame anyways and that way OSU fans could view the stuff during sporting events or other events on campus.
Campus Gateway seems the perfect fit to me. The Gateway needs tenants and the Hall of Fame needs a location close to campus. Rick brings up a good point about Eddie George’s, but they are somewhat differentiated-especially since the HOF Cafe has video games.
what about rosendales? there just aren’t any good bars to watch buckeyes games in the short north or victorian village so why not?
… actaully maybe it’s not a great idea, we’ve already got too much gentrification going on in the area.
and yeah, i think campus gateway is a good idea george.
Anyone think that a Gateway relocation would be too much of a conflict with Eddie George’s Grille already there? Doesn’t that already count as a buckeye-themed sports bar? ;)
Anyone know what this hotel is going to be called or what any final renderings are going to look like?
