The local pretzel-making team of Brittany Baum and Maria Battaglia-Gentile have officially opened their first brick-and-mortar location today inside the North Market. Their company Brezel has accumulated a following through local farmers markets and area events.
“The North Market is a Columbus landmark,” said Brezel co-owner Maria Battaglia-Gentile. “There’s always something fun and interesting going on and it’s a true hub of the Columbus community. We felt that we could offer something really unique to North Market patrons as part of the Market community and we also thought being part of the Market community would be a great fit for us as we expand our business.”
Their menu consists of several traditional soft pretzel offerings, several rotating specials, a variety of dipping sauces and spreads, and several types of beverages.
“We’re always working on new recipes so we are excited that with extra space, we can really expand on our current menu,” added Maria. “You might soon see sandwiches on pretzel bread and pretzel rolls, and salads with giant pretzel croutons.”
Brezel is located on the south end of the North Market, in between Clever Crow Pizza and Omega Artisan Baking. More information can be found online at www.BrezelPower.com and www.northmarket.com. They will be closed on Mondays.

tried a pretzel today and it was delicious! Can’t wait to get some more. I’d like to try the apple one.
Congrats, Brittany and Maria! It’s also so exciting to see Columbus’ small businesses grow. Can’t wait to visit the new digs.
I had one of their pretzels at a farmer’s market last year and it was awesome. I may need to drag myself to the North Market soon to finally get another one (and try other flavors).

I saw the Brezel stand almost complete last weekend. I can’t wait to grab the city’s best pretzel the next time I am at the North Market!
