Bill Yerkes is at it again. After a brief hiatus from making traditional Napoli-style pizzas, Yerkes is again ready to put a pie in your face.
Yerkes is subletting Eleni-Christina Bakery in the evenings for his latest pizza enterprise, bonoTOGO (as in “to go”) — just in time for the Gallery Hop on Saturday. Although the place’s address is 641 N. High St., the storefront actually faces Russell Street, about 60 feet west of the main drag.
What a great idea- bakery during the morning/afternoon and pizza joint in the evening. Menus for this place were taped above the mailboxes where I live last night. Selection and prices look great. I hope it works out for them.

I also dined at BONOTOGO with my girlfriend Friday evening. The Cherry Bomb is where it’s at, although still mighty spicy even after they dumbed it down.
If BONOTOGO isn’t going to serve beverages, then Europia needs to stay open later than 10pm on a Friday night. These two businesses should establish a symbiotic relationship.
All in all, a nice little joint and good people.
Yep.
Moose, my parents and I went last night and really loved it. I got the funghi #12. My Dad had one with artichokes, multiple cheeses and kalamata olives. Mom had one with really delicious caramelized onions and Moose had some of my crust which was really tasty, so only a bit.
Really enjoyed it. Had a nice walk down through the park and sat outside. I love the water and mix and match glasses and chairs and the quirkiness of the owner (had fun playing with the wooden toaster.) It really reminded me of Italy (especially the water.) Does anyone know if you can bring wine? Overall, Great pizza and atmosphere, no complaints from me.
Seems like the Short North is food scene is exploding right now.
-bono TOGO
-Nida’s
-Barrel 44
-Black Olive
-Kickstart Coffee (which rumor has it a CUer is going to be a barista there!)
-Cuppy’s (I’ll at least try it once)
-Ohioana (I know it is delayed for Frank’s, but I am gitty about having this. Should be able to get all of my food from Greener, Zeta’s and Ohioana!)
Anything I’m forgetting?
better than Rossi?
Definitely better than what I remember. However, I haven’t been in the Rossi since they renovated (added an additional room) and turned the place into a Senior Living Facility. ;)
Sweet. I’ll be there weds. then. I love Rossi pizza so if this is better… I’m on it.
Great. I have a nice, healthy lunch and now all I want is this pizza. You folks are evil.
Ate there last night with a bunch of other cyclists. We ate on the sidewalk curb since the place was full. We ordered about six different pies. I got the Berliner with kielbasa and kraut. I did not like it and all the topping fell off when one picks it up.
Me and another kid I was with got in a wrestling match to the amusement of some of the other diners. This is the best restaraunt in the Short North. Its even better than WC and Northstar combined. I like thier pizza-only attitude. They don’t get bogged down by salads, paninis, tater tots and all that other non-sense that crowd most mediocre dining halls.
Oh yes… and the owner liked us so much… he gave us a sexy crepe that we all five shared. It was real good. Europia was closed so we got something from UDF. Bring coffe mugs.
I will likely go again on Thursday.
(more than) ’nuff said….

Yeah, I’m calling the Bianca the best pizza in the neighborhood, hands down. I also think the #2 is awesome if you want that “traditional” pizza taste, you can still get it here. Everyone’s happy.
Cyclist, thanks for the crepes update. Will definitely have to be there on Wednesday for this as well.
Damn you Wednesday  I wonder if they’d come cook for us tonight if we guaranteed them 51 pizzas out the door!! Sounds like they need a break though after all the action this weekend. Good neighborhood support already. I like it!
what’s the deal with WEDS???
scroll up
i read this thread twice and I guess keep missing it, someone throw me a bone!
not open on monday and tuesday. :)
All I found out about the crepes is that they are sexy.
Ah, ok, thanks! – first day they are open! I was thinking it was free sexy crepes with a pie day
All I found out about the crepes is that they are sexy.
Saturday was supposed to be the first day they were serving them, but we didn’t make it. Sunday about the time we were going we got distracted by a huge wreck on High so once again, no pizza or crepes.
I’ll try to post something more descript than sexy crepes on Wednesday :)
I can tell you what the menu says – “CREPES…just like Maurice’s nonna [I love all nonna's cooking so this is a good sign :)] made for him. Chocolate and gooey, or maybe fresh fruit…or just maybe, real maple syrup [oh man, I'm dying here] and nuts…gee I dunno. $3.00….ya gotta eat ‘em here…they just don’t travel.”

I’m going to slap you in the face for typing that part about maple syrup and nuts.
I still haven’t eaten lunch.
Dammit.
Thanks, so just dessert crepes then?
Slight detour FYI:
My friend Caroline will be serving her crepes at the Jeni’s tent during the Food and Wine Festival at the North Market. She is looking forward to your comments and suggestions!
….and, I want BOGO
Soon! I will go soon.

Yep, see above (doh!!), looks like Manatee’s got a non-desert crepe hook up! Although, in all fairness, these people are so nice, if you wanted a crepe with something they already serve on/in it, I’m sure they would. I’m not kidding, two of the nicest people I’ve met in a long, long time.
When were eating at Bonotogo, me and my friends started hi-fiving and doing some sort of Bonotogo chant/pep song. That pizza really got us excited.
Bonotogo is closed on mondays and tuesdays.
