Bill Yerkes is at it again. After a brief hiatus from making traditional Napoli-style pizzas, Yerkes is again ready to put a pie in your face.
Yerkes is subletting Eleni-Christina Bakery in the evenings for his latest pizza enterprise, bonoTOGO (as in “to go”) — just in time for the Gallery Hop on Saturday. Although the place’s address is 641 N. High St., the storefront actually faces Russell Street, about 60 feet west of the main drag.
What a great idea- bakery during the morning/afternoon and pizza joint in the evening. Menus for this place were taped above the mailboxes where I live last night. Selection and prices look great. I hope it works out for them.

Five more of us stopped by after 10:30 and hung out for an hour.
We didn’t eat there though. It was a post-Jeni’s visit. I think I’ll be stopping by there tomorrow after the CU meetup to order the #2!
Chatted with the owners tonight. Absolutely hilarious people. They mentioned adding a few new items to the menu soon :P
Tomorrow I’ll be indulging. tonight Mr. Waitress made lasagna with homemade pasta, bechamel, and homemade veal sauce. Guess Bono will have to wait
I may be willing to skip Bono tomorrow if you are willing to share. Pretty please?
Yeah, sounded like they had a surprise or two in store…
I can confirm this is true and I can also confirm that Mr. JimL2 will never be allowed to pick up dinner again. 2 of our 3 pizzas were wrong, lol. He, of course, was perfectly OK with what we got, but I was less than happy because they all had basil on them  Fortunately for Bono it means I still have not gotten my fix and will have to come in this weekend, lol.
Is it me or does this place get orders wrong 25%+ of the time?
Might just be you (and JimL2); never happened to me.
Yeah, sounded like they had a surprise or two in store…
Hm. Perhaps I’ll have to convince Colleen to meander down there tonight…. :D
If I do, would anyone be interested in sampling the deadly habañero vodka that I mentioned in the infusion thread? Technically, I could bring it along, since BYOB is permitted, and it would go well with the Cherry Bomb. If so, BYOshotglass would help them out a lot, in the glassware department.
I take it that’s a “no.” It’s just as well, I suppose.

I am interested but don’t know how long I will stay so don’t bring it on my account.

Well of course we would! I think it might just be a matter of getting ourselves down there after happy hour tonight…

Bear – I would be interested in sampling this poison but I don’t think I can make the HH or Bono tonight. We’ve got to head out to a park in Hilliard for the Capital Area Humane Society’s Defend Your Friend 5k. Save some for another time if you can.

I have always known that sooner or later alcohol would be my demise. Bring it on
I’ll try a little bit of your peppery concoction!
After Eddie George tonight, I’m heading to Bono.

Aha! I typed in haste, after all. We won’t be able to make Eddie George, but I’ll head down to Bono for dinner, maybe 8:30ish, fire-water in hand, and hope to see you all there. Slip a shotglass in your pocket if you remember it, on your way out the door.

Anyone got a shot glass for me?? :D

I think you can share with BrianG. Anything that could possibly live on a glass surface after being doused with habañero infused Tito’s would likely kill you at 40 paces anyway.
I’ll start by apologizing to the neighbors. Hopefully having Bono just outside is a net gain. (it wasn’t terrible, but it was a large group)
This may have been the culmination of the CU/Bono relationship. There’s too much to comment on. The entire menu was ordered including the 15b, there may or may not have been multiple infused vodkas & wines, and nearly the whole neighborhood stopped by.
This is why summer nights in the city were invented.
But do we need another pizza gathering like we had at Bristol? Because we can add this place, the pizza added to Bodega and the pizza added to Tasi Cafe. I know we did a cross town type of pizza gathering, but even the Short North Gazette shows a separate listing for pizza options since it is crazy in the Short North. We could have a Short North pizza comparison.
Mad props to Peggy and the crew for handling such a crazy set of orders so gracefully. I can’t believe we actually went through one of everything on the menu — amazing! I didn’t sample all of them, but of the ones I sampled, there wasn’t one I disliked. Boy, that place is great.
I do feel as though we should apologize to the neighbors, though. Or at a minimum, make a collective pledge to do our three-hour drinking stints after we go there for pizza, rather than before.
That said, this is, indeed, why summer evenings were invented.
Thanks for the great evening, all! (Even though I had to make an early escape.) I think I may have permanent taste-bud damage due to the habenero vokda/cherry bomb combo…
