There was a lot of tough competition in this year’s race for the best new restaurant in Columbus. We tallied over 50 new dining options having opened during the calendar year, many of them receiving a lot of praise from day one.

In the end there can be only one, as they say, and this year’s title of Best New Restaurant is going to Milestone 229. Located within Bicentennial Park along the beautifully renovated Scioto Mile, Milestone features amazing food from Executive Chef Christian Hattemer and front-row patio seating that is perfect for sipping summer cocktails while watching the new fountain displays dance.

Great choices (at least the ones I’ve checked out). Certainly the view and atmosphere at Milestone gives it a big leg up (especially in nice weather).  I’ve got to say, however, food at De-Novo is heavenly.  Jury Room is just a great spot to hang out.  Overall, it was a great year for dining downtown!

Milestone is a good choice for the food alone and the location is a great plus, especially in the summer. Great to see that area get more vibrant. And thanks for the list of new places to check out.
