Well first off hats off to Joey for his persistence this year. As many of us have had plenty of obligations on hand Joey made sure that he nailed all of his venture. It’s great to see a folk artist top the list in a sea of scholars. Inspiration and vision are half the battle and Joey is right on par for that.

I am also very stoked that many of my mates in the Cowtown Lowbrow Collective and the Junctionview family are represented in the top 10 list. I cannot wait to see how 09 pans out for the visionaries in bustown.

Why confused? It’s a reader survey. People voted, and votes were tallied. Some of the more prominent and nationally recognized artists were voted for, but the smaller locals seemed to be the vast majority of who the readers of CU enjoy.

Yeah, I’m a little confused about why Aminah Robinson is number 10, and Ann Hamilton isn’t even on the list! What about Malcolm Cochrane, or Tim Rietenbach, or Jeff Smith?

I shouldn’t complain too much though, because I’m delighted to know that people like my work enough to put me in the top ten.
