Best Dessert of 2009: Jeni’s

It’s probably not a huge surprise that Jeni’s can be found at the top of our reader survey for Best Dessert of 2009 - their praise is nearly universal throughout Columbus. From their delicious seasonal flavors to their love of Ohio agriculture, there’s really not much to dislike about Jeni’s. 2009 was also a year of constant growth for their company. They opened their fifth location in Dublin this past Spring, and later began selling pints at The Hills Market. We’re looking forward to seeing them continue to grow in 2010!

Sure, Jenis is good, for ice cream, but hands down for baked goods is Simple Sweets Bake Shop in Clintonville (2991 N. High). While others splash everything they make with sugar or a sugar glazing, or bake pretense into everything they make ($50 for a chocolate cake, PUh-leeze!), while Pattycake fumbles through a chocolate based (not cocoa) no-bake, Simple Sweets Bake Shop shines in all categories! I have been there several times passing through C-ville and cannot say enough good about them!
