Finding your go-to taco spot can be an enlightening experience, but can also be a lofty goal in this city. In Columbus, tacos come in all shapes and sizes, from traditional to build-your-own; authentic to americanized; you can find them in hip sit down establishments and traveling across the city in food trucks. Needless to say, the competition to be number one is fierce. Which is why we are here to help!
Columbus Underground is bringing back Best Bites: Tacos for taco novices and addicts alike, gathering the best taco offerings in the city under one roof for one night only. The event will take place on Thursday, August 18th from 6pm-10pm in the newly renovated and expanded Strongwater event space. Two different ticketed time options will be available: 6pm to 8pm and 8pm to 10pm.
Tickets are $30 in advance and will include bite-size taco samples from each vendor, live music by Noe Salsa Project and hot sauce tastings by CaJohns Flavor & Fire . To top it all off we have partnered with Corona to put together a specialty cash bar. Each attendee will also get a chance to vote for the Best Taco of 2016 that evening.
The 2016 edition of Best Bites: Tacos will feature samples from: Condado, Bakersfield, The Point Bar & Grill , Phatt Taco, ACRE, Dos Hermanos, The Kitchen, Gallerie Bar & Bistro, Strongwater Food & Spirits, Tortilla Street Food, Yabos Tacos, Balboa, Local Cantina, Oliver’s, Los Potosinos, plus more to be announced before the event!
A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated through to Franklinton Gardens, a local urban farming nonprofit that grows and distributes fresh produce. The Columbus Underground Best Bites event series has now collectively raised over $17,500 for local charities since launching in August 2014!
