Best Bites Breakdown: Kraft House No. 5

Have you ever wondered what a karate chop, round-house kick to your palate would taste like? Chef Marcus Meacham has, and he’s planning to bring a burger to Best Bites: Burgers that promises to assault your senses – in the best possible way.

Chef Meacham heads up the kitchen at Kraft House No. 5, where he constantly pushes the boundaries on flavor. His food is complex, surprising, and always appealing due to his love of his craft, which is evident is his clever, playful and unique choices.

Like with the Krafty Umami Bomb Burger – in-house ground beef cheek and chuck and pork fat, Bentons bacon braised in North High Brewing’s Almost Paradise Summer IPA, soy-pickled serrano peppers, and oven-dried tomatoes.

The burger is topped off with a Parmesan Reggiano wafer, then nestled onto a house-made, black sesame seed-topped brioche bun.  It’s flavor upon flavor, upon even more flavor, which all comes together in yummy belly contentment.

Can such a bold and singular spin on the popular umami burger be the best in Columbus? Eat and see at the Best Bites: Burgers event, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 20th, 6pm – 9pm, at the High Line Car House, 550 South High Street. [Tickets to Best Bites: Burgers are currently sold out.]
