Few people seem to know that one of the Short North’s top restaurants, Basi Italia, is currently offering a Happy Hour deal that’s hard to beat: half off from 5:00 to 6:30, Monday through Thursday.
Not half off of the drinks, though: half off of Chef John Dornback’s outstanding dinner menu.
So if you’re feeling the pinch of the recession — or even if you’re not –, give them a call at 614.294.7383 to make a reservation. (Personal recommendation: the sauté of zucchini with toasted almonds and pecorino is absolutely delicious.)

Yeah, this is very cool. Right up there with Blackcreek’s “Happy Hour” Bistro Menu with the cheap early bird specials. :D

FYI–This happy hour has now been changed to just the appetizers at half price.
Another FYI-We went last week to get some half price food and was told that the happy hour no longer exists at all. Apparently it was just a winter thing.
