We hope you had a great time celebrating the Best Tacos in Columbus during our second annual Best Bites: Tacos at Strongwater last night. A big shout out to all the local businesses who came out and served up their greatest tacos. We want to thank all our guests who participated in the event, we appreciate your support and enjoyed your company!
Tacos were dished out by Condado, Bakersfield, The Point Bar & Grill , Phatt Taco, ACRE, Dos Hermanos, The Kitchen, Gallerie Bar & Bistro, Strongwater Food & Spirits, Tortilla Street Food, Yabos Tacos, Balboa, Local Cantina and Sunnyside Tacos. Hot Sauce and Tortilla Chips were sampled from CaJohns Flavor & Fire and Shagbark Seed & Mill. Too Good Eats topped off the night with their fresh popsicles. We hope you had a Corona or two wash it all down.
Our musical entertainment, Noe Salsa Project, put on a great show and we hope you enjoyed listening, watching (and maybe even a little dancing!)
The votes were tallied and you voted Balboa as number one taco of the night with a Pork Belly Taco!
The Top five vote-getters included:
- Balboa
- Sunnyside Tacos
- Gallerie Bar & Bistro
- Condado
- Local Cantina
An extra special thank you to the CU team that helped make this event happen: Nancy Colvin, Susan Post, Codi Giesey, Christine Horvath and Anne and Walker Evans. I am so lucky to work with such an amazing team of people who help make each event better than the last. Thank you to all our volunteers: Patrick Moore, Codie Owens, Meredith Higgins and Jessica Johnson for helping to make this event shine.
All of the attendees of the event helped us raise funds for Franklinton Gardens, a local urban farming nonprofit that grows and distributes fresh produce. The Columbus Underground Best Bites event series has now collectively raised over $20,000 for local charities since launching in August 2014! Thanks for all of your support. We love hosting the Best Bites event series and we hope to see you at one of our events in the future. Stay tuned for our next event of the year!
