Bakery Gingham Opening Short North Location

Bakery Gingham will be expanding for the second time in 2009 as they prepare to open a new Short North retail store at 647 North High Street. “The plan is to open in November,” said owner and baker Amanda Ellis, “but it depends on city inspections.”

The 500 square foot retail space will feature all of the cupcakes, cookies, bars, and other baked goods that Gingham has come to be known for. Additionally, Amanda will continue to offer larger custom-made cakes for special events. “We’re excited to be on Wedding Row,” she added, dubbing the area that is already home to Big Rock Little Rooster, Jacob Neal, and Rose Bredl Flowers.

Update (10/27/09) – The new Short North Location will be opening on Sat Oct 31st!

    I got to try Lemony Snicket yesterday, and it was great! I think my favorite is still Oreo though. :)

    I am racking my brain trying to figure out where 647 N. High is.  I can’t think of any vacancies on the west side of the street.  Is it that building that is actually Russel where Bono was?  Either way, this is awesome news, the Short North continues to get better and better.

    JoeV – Second Location, although all of the baking will be done in the kitchen at the Thurman location.

    Tigertree – I believe they will be set up right here.

    Thats great!  Glad to see retailer oriented businesses reabsorbing some of the service oriented real estate down here.  It’s going to be a great addition.

    Just got this straight from Gingham:

    We are opening the doors to our new location at 647 N. High Street Saturday evening, October 31st for the Short North’s Highball Halloween Masquerade. Sunday November 1st, we will begin regular hours, daily at that location. We still have our original German Village location so come see us at whichever location is more convenient for you!

    Got an email from Gingham today. They will be open on Saturday for Gallery Hop from 11am to 11pm!
