The following discussion is about Wagenbrenner Co. wanting to redevelop the Auld Company plot of land along North 4th Street in Weinland Park into a mixed use development, including multi-family housing, office and retail.

Looks interesting but i get a “Paid Subscribers Only” notice..
Yeah that’s all I could get as well, I actually didn’t realize there was more to the article. Anyone have any further info on this?
I was hoping this was going to be Kroger related, but this is great too!
That’s pretty much the whole article; it’s quite short. Looks like all the relevant info was included in the post.
What I’ve heard in the past has been anecdotal, but it sounds like they’ve been planning this for awhile. Good to hear it’s actually happening and not just a random rumor. ;) That site has a lot of potential. Hopefully they’re able to reuse some of the existing structures and don’t have to tear it all down. I like the big garage doors along Fourth. ;)

No, Business First requires you to have a paid subscription to read the rest of some of their articles. Typically they’re longer two-page features. Part of me wants to pay because I’m really curious about these stories, but part of me is furious about the paid-content model and refuses to give in. ;)
This issue should be in the mail tomorrow or Friday so unless someone posts an update before then, I will do.
Well, you have to respect their right to use their content as they wish. Feel free to discuss the project, but please don’t re-post their paid content. Even if the whole article were available on their website, we try to adhere to only posting the first 2-3 sentences as a snippet and sending you to the original source to read the full article.
As an alternative, I might have to track down someone with Wagenbrenner myself and see if we can get some more details straight from them. ;)
gosh no!!! I was just planning a summary of anything new from previous designs.
This article actually appeared in the current issues, which hit newsstands on Friday June 5th. I’ve read the article, it pretty much states that they are doing environmental studies now to look at clean-up costs. They will be applying for a Clean Ohio grant, which is kinda their specialty. I believe it stated they would like to preserve some of the current structure, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Free to read at the public library if you are want to read more.
Oopsie. My bad. We have the print subscription at work, so I figured we had an online subscription too. You’re right – the actual article is quite a bit longer.
I read the rest of the article, and can’t wait for the Coated Fabric project to move forward with that 700-unit development. Really going to make a pretty big impact on that area. :D
