Because I’m a major nut when it comes to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream (see my Ben & Jerry’s review in the CU archives), I wanted to let everyone know that a Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop is slated to open in the Fiesta Shopping Center on Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington!!!! Yay! I don’t know when the grand opening is, but I hope it includes free scoops for all. :D
Also, further west on Lane, a Wolfgang Puck Express is going to open in the Lane Avenue shopping mall. Again, I don’t know when, but it will be nice to have a new place to try.

With all of the gourmet Ice Cream in this town(Denises, Jenni’s, and even Graeters) I find it hard to believe you get so excited for Ben and Jerry’s.
Sure it’s decent, but those other three blow them out ofthe water.
Phish Food is one of the best flavors out there.
I like Jeni’s too.
But no one can beat the champion Ritter’s with their delicious Strawberry Delight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t know what it is about B&J, but I’ve always loved the ice cream! I absolutely love Phish Food. A pint of the low fat variety is in my freezer right now. I also love their Vanilla Chocolate Chunk, which they only sell at the parlors. Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz …. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough…. All the 2Twisted flavors. YUM YUM!!!
I’ve actually never tried Jeni’s. I should, especially since they carry it at Stauf’s now. Isn’t salted caramel one of their flavors? My friend raves about it all of the time. Never tried Ritter’s either. Need to. And I’ve never been a huge fan of Graeter’s even though a parlor sits at the end of my Mom’s street. To each his own, I guess…. :)
Speaking of ice cream, Rita’s up on Henderson has yummy yummy custards and Italian ices!
Oh! How could I forget. The ONLY Flavor to get at Graeter’s is BLACK CHERRY. Simply delicious!
(((unless you are Walker and then the ONLY flavor to get there is Mango Sorbet)))
I love Ritters!! Another frozen custard place opened in Hilliard called Culvers, they have awesome food and good yogurt!! Personnally my favorite at Graeters is Cinnamon, I wish they had it year round!!
All of their Sorbets I’ve tried are good. Watermelon is a bit sweet, but still tasty. ;)
More info on Ben & Jerry’s. I heard that the guy who is opening a parlor on Lane has supposedly bought multiple locations around the city…. Interesting to see where they will pop up.
What’s the deal with opening more ice cream shops on Lane? :)
I heard that a Ritter’s is opening there too.
I just tried a new place today up on High St. in Powell called Sheridan’s Frozen Custard. It was very good. I thought it was much better than Ritter’s.
Alot of people seem to like Ritters, but I have always found their custard to be mediocre at best. I think Rita’s on Henderson and Sheridan’s are much better.
As far as ice cream, I have always thought Graeter’s is very overrated. I think Jeni’s is the best (especially the Dark Cocoa Gelato).
Just my opinion!
there is an ice cream place over off Rt 256 in Pickerington, that’s in the same plaza as Longhorn and bath & body works. I forget the name of it, but it honestly hands down should hold the #1 spot. You actually create your own flavors. They have this massive chilled marble slab, and you start off with a base flavor, then add your ingredients, such as apple pie filling, or pie crust, chocolate, endless choices honestly….. Then they take all your ingredients on this big slab and mix them together in front of you. Next time i drive past it, i’ll catch its name.
Mongolian Ice Cream?
sounds like coldstone creamery
yup….. that is it marcus…. coldstone creamery….. place is sick
I think this Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop is finally open! I drove by the other night and saw a gorgeous cow painted on the wall. If it isn’t open, it will be any day! :D
Has anybody been to Lickedty Split in the village? Its really good. Its located on Whittier across the street from the Brown Bag Deli. I like it because none of the ice cream is soft serve. They also serve subs and salads, haven’t tried the food, but the place always smells good!! I highly recommend it!!
Anne & I went there one night quite awhile ago. I can’t remember what I had, but I don’t remember being too impressed. That’s probably because I just had plain vanilla or something like that. heheh… I’m not too big into desserts.
But Brown Bag…. mmm…..
RIP Ben & Jerry’s on Lane Ave.
RIP Ritter’s Frozen Custard on Lane Ave *AND* Sawmill :(
RIP Lickety Split on Whittier.
I loved Ritter’s butter pecan. The only place I’ve seen it for purchase in pints now is The Hills Market for $4 a pint!!!
And RIP the Ben & Jerry’s by the Arena Grand…
Man! I don’t think I ever even saw the B&J on Lane open. I guess I wasn’t looking close enough – there’s all those other shops there that I’ve been to several times, yet totally missed out on the B&J.
Honestly though, I really wouldn’t care if I could get Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz in the stores. I’d pay the ridiculous grocery store cost per pint for that stuff!

I didn’t realize that they had closed that one too! WTH. You’re right, the Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz was the best thing to get in the scoop shop…
Sure it’s decent, but those other three blow them out ofthe water.
Looks like Lemon Lymon called it in September ’04. He should be an ice cream shop consultant.
