Alana’s Food and Wine Staying Put in Current Location

    Alana’s is here to stay.

There were doubts last year about Alana’s Food and Wine remaining at 2333 North High Street due to a change in ownership of their building, but a new two-year lease with NorthSteppe Realty will not only preserve their current location, it will also improve it.

Alana’s will expand to include a new wine shop, offering discounted vintages curated by sommelier Kevin Bertschi. The restaurant is still considering an expansion into the realm of prepared “to go” foods that could include locally made preserves, fresh produce, and meats from local farmers.

“We would like to have a sort of gourmet market like we saw in Catalonia,” said Bertschi, who is also a business partner at Alana’s. “Alana makes reductions and sauces that are of exceptional quality. It would be great if we could offer those to customers to take home for special occasions.”

Alana’s Food and Wine has been regularly featured in the Top 10 lists of most Columbus restaurant critics, patrons and publications for the past decade — including Columbus Underground’s Best Restaurants lists from 2008 to 2015. Alana’s topped those lists in first place in 2008, 2009 and 2010, and Chef Alana Shock herself was voted best chef in Columbus in 2015.
