The Moonlight Market officially wrapped up its third season on Saturday, October 10th. The perfect autumn weather was a great way to close out the season, giving sidewalk vendors and the brick-and-mortar businesses on Gay Street one more Saturday night of excitement before hibernating for the winter.
The event was created by the Gay Street Collaborative (GSC) Business Association in 2013 to spur additional Downtown shopping and dining opportunities for residents and visitors to Columbus, and to give area businesses a reason to stay open late during typically slow hours. Many local businesses have been able to capitalize successfully on that opportunity.
“This our most successful marketing outside of people finding our website on Google,” said Tammy Hurley, owner and stylist at Studio 33 Salon and Spa, located at 33 North Grant in the Discovery District. “Our main objective is to create awareness of our salon and spa. We hand out 50% off certificates and we definitely see these people coming into the salon to use them.”
The Moonlight Market will return in April 2016, and will continue every second Saturday through October.
