Every first Saturday of every month, the Short North district hosts an array of activities in an event called Gallery Hop. During this bustling event from 4 pm to 10 pm (with some places staying open later) people come from all over Columbus to shop at boutiques, view galleries, listen to performers, and dine at stylish restaurants. Here are some places that you should definitely check out during November’s Gallery Hop:
Tech or Treat at Lumos Gallery
The new-ish Lumos Gallery at 937 North High is hosting a “Tech or Treat” Halloween Party tonight, which will feature a costume contest, 3-D printed masks and refreshments. Artists on display tonight include Sophie Kahn, Brian Yetzer and Kristy Balliet. More info at www.lumoscolumbus.com.
Kojo at Sherrie Gallerie
Sherrie Gallerie will feature a closing exhibition of their ongoing “Now and Then” show, featuring the photography of well-known local Kojo Kamau. The show features historic work from Kojo’s collection as well as new photography. More info at www.sherriegallerie.com.
Check out the new Anthropologie
This month’s Gallery Hop will be the first for Anthropologie, which opened on October 10th. While the store’s opening has been somewhat divisive as one of the first major chain retailers, the two-story urban store is likely to be quite busy during tonight’s hop. More info at www.anthropologie.com.
Shop the sales at GRID Furnishings
Modern furniture store GRID is closing up soon in anticipation of a relocation to Worthington, and they’re working on reducing inventory. The store will feature 40% off all floor sample items only during today’s hop. More info at www.gridfurnishings.com.
Munch at Oddfellows / Katalina’s
Last weekend, the folks at Katalina’s teamed up with the folks at Oddfellows to launch a new munch-and-brunch menu that will be offered both early on weekends and for late night-bar food. Go Vaping at Crawford & Masters
If you’re smoking-inclined, then you might want to check out the new upscale vapor lounge Crawford & Masters on the north end of the Short North.
