If you’re thinking that today’s cool autumn weather would make for a lovely outdoor stroll, why not spend it in the Short North during Gallery Hop? There’s always plenty to see, do, eat and buy, but we’ve managed to pick out just a few unique things worthy of mentioning for this month’s Hop:
1. Check out these Laser-Cut Columbus Maps
CU messageboard regular “DLDude” posted some images earlier this week of some sweet laser-cut wooden maps of the Columbus street grid that he created. The Candle Lab picked up on the idea and will have some displayed at their Short North store (751 N High) during Gallery Hop. Swing by, check em out, and place an order for one if you’d like to hang it on your wall at home.
2. Grab a Drink at House Beer
Yeah, we recommended House Beer last month, and we’re going to go ahead and recommend it again! Nightlife reviewer Briana Gunter stopped by there two weeks ago and despite being a beer novice, she was pleasantly surprised with what she found. You can read her full House Beer review, HERE.
3. Scope out the New Retail Businesses
There’s at least three new retailers debuting at Gallery Hop this month that we’re aware of: Reverse Vanity Spa at 861 N High, the DamesBond Marketplace at 1188 N High, and FRINGE at 1177 N High.
4. Be Italian for a Day
You don’t have to be Italian to take part in the annual Italian Festival, located just a short walk east of the Gallery Hop on High Street. As always, this weekend-long festival includes food, music, vendors, kid’s activities and more.
5. Hit the Cabaret
The Short North Stage is currently featuring the musical Cabaret, and tonight is the second-to-last show. You can either see it at 8pm at the Garden Theater (1187 N High) following your hop, or wait to see the final show tomorrow at 3pm. For a preview of what to expect, you can check out Anne’s review, HERE.
What else are you looking forward to at Gallery Hop tonight?
