Woof! The temperature is over 100 today with a heat index pushing it closed to 110! The last thing you probably want to do is spend an extended amount of time outdoors. Thankfully, Gallery Hop is an event that offers sweet refuge inside Short North galleries, shops, restaurants, bars and other places that hopefully have working air conditioning today.
If you plan on going out this evening, here’s five places you should check out!
1. Snack on Frozen Custard from Whit’s

Granville-based Whit’s Frozen Custard opened their newest location three weeks ago at 841 North High Street. The shop features vanilla, chocolate and a specialty flavor (“Buckeye” featured today (peanut butter custard with reese’s peanut butter cups and peanut butter swirls)) that can be eaten in a cup or cone, or turned into a Blizzard-like treat called a Whitser. A perfect way to keep cool today.
2. Say Goodbye to the Old PM Gallery
After 32 years, PM Gallery will be celebrating their final gallery hop in their original location at 726 N. High Street in preparation for a relocation to 1190 N. High Street (next door to What the Rock?!). The store ran a large moving sale this past week, so their inventory today will be limited, but swing by anyway to see them one last time and wish them well before the move.
3. View some “Summer Inspired” Artwork

4. View new work from Lisette Lichtenstein

New Orleans native turned Columbus resident Lisette Lichtenstein has a two month exhibition installed at GRID Furnishings in the Short North, located at 944 North High Street. There’s an opening reception during tonight’s gallery hop.
5. Sip Slushies at Camelot Cellars

Camelot Cellars will be serving frozen slushie drinks all day today to help Gallery Hoppers stay cool. The two slushie flavors featured are Strawberry Margarita and Mint Mojito, both served in sugar rimmed glasses.
What else are you looking forward to at Gallery Hop tonight?

Good to see that the PM Gallery has found a new home in the northern Short North.
