Hard to believe that August is already upon us. But here it is! The August edition of Gallery Hop promises cooler temperatures, a chance of rain and some new artwork displays that help to reinforce the neighborhood as ground zero for arts and culture in Central Ohio.
If you plan on going out for Gallery Hop this evening, here’s five things you should check out!
1. View Some Outdoor Art

One of the big draws for tonight’s Gallery Hop is the official unveiling of a collection of new outdoor murals spread throughout the district. All work has been created by local artists and will be on temporary display over the course of the next 12 months.
2. Check out the New/Old Bakery

The Eleni Christina bakery has been around since 1994, but just recently opened to the public with regular retail hours. The shop offers their locally celebrated breads along with an assortment of pastries and sandwiches.
3. Take a coffee break at One Line

4. Say Goodbye to Bakery Gingham

Bakery Gingham announced a few weeks ago that they’ll be closing both locations (Short North and German Village) in September. The Short North store is already closed, but will be open for gallery hop tonight. So swing by and say goodbye and get your fill of their delicious cupcakes one last time.
5. View some local art at the Marcia Evans Gallery

A new exhibit is having an opening reception tonight at the Marcia Evans Gallery, located at 8 East Lincoln. The show features abstract work by Michael Halliday and Juan Carrera.
What else are you looking forward to at Gallery Hop tonight?

Booo for not throwing in National Mead Day at Brothers Drake
But every night’s a good night to swing by Brothers Drake! ;)

Eleni Christina closes at 3pm so they won’t be open during Gallery Hop. They’ll be open again on Thursday. I highly recommend trying their new sandwiches if you haven’t yet. Really tasty banh mi.
