From upscale to casual and everything in between, 2007 was a stellar year on the local dining scene. Richard Rosendale, chef and owner of Rosendales in the Short North, had the most widely anticipated opening of the last year.

While I culled most of my “new” Chinese experiences from established restaurants, local veteran Paul Liu came through with a concept of his own. He recast Liu Pon-Xi in the Short North and divided the space, now filled with Paul Liu’s Chinese Restaurant and Bluefish.

Ying’s Teahouse & Yum Yum made a splash in Clintonville. Fresh, local and seasonal ingredients found friends in the Black Creek Bistro, the Uptown Market and Tasi. Gingham Bakery and Yosick’s Artisan Chocolates opened in German Village.
